The primary mission of KGLP is to provide a radio service that encourages intellectual curiosity and critical analysis. KGLP's mandate is to provide for the otherwise un-served tastes and interests of the public in the Gallup area, and to present material that challenges the mind, provokes thought and discussion, broadens views, and educates the whole person in a formal and informal manner. KGLP strives to enhance intellectual development, expand knowledge, and deepen aesthetic enjoyment through a balanced presentation of alternative view points. KGLP attempts to help listeners become more responsive, informed human beings who exercise personal responsibility.

On Monday, January 11, 2021, at the 6:30pm MST annual ZOOM members meeting, Carol Sarath, Katherine Belzowski, and Raymond Calderon were re-elected for 2-year board terms, through 2022. At 7pm on December 14, 2020, Gallup Public Radio’s Board of Directors was in Executive Session for discussion of HR matters. The Feb. 8 meeting concluded at 6:14pm MST, with all 4 board officers re-elected, followed by Executive Session to discuss HR issues. The next meeting of the Board is planned remotely via ZOOM for Monday, May 10, 2021, at 5:30pm.
